O'leno is located in High Spring. Actually back I think in the late 1800's O'leno was actually the town of Keno it was named after a gambling game. They still play it in Las Vegas. Well the town dried up and now the State owns it.
The cool thing about this place besides great camping is that the Santa Fe river runs through it and stops. Kinda, it then goes underground for 3 miles and comes up in River Rise state park which is right next to O'leno.

This ain't what I want. Take me back to the home page

There's a suspension bridge that crosses the river and takes you to a nature trail. If you go left this is the long way to where the river goes under. If you take a right before the bridge to the left is a trail that in 5 minutes will take you to the whirlpool.
Need to B-B-Q ? This is the place. Everything has a Log theme to it.
There is also a large cabin like place that can be used for meetings as well.
And they have cabins for camping as well.
This is  the place where the water goes underground. You can watch it spin. This ain't no speed demon its a pretty slow swirl.
And yes this is where the water rises. You can't see it moving but this is where the magic happens.

If you interested you can go to www.cavesurvey.com and look up old bellamay cave for more information.
You can't camp any closer to nature than this. This is one of the campsites. And it looks like the company has arrived.

I know this is probably a no no but it was cute. She would get excited and wiggle her tail like a dog.
Get off I-75 at the 441 High Spring exit. Its " Down the road " on your right
