I could explain for hours how the whole tube run works but the best thing to do is just go and do it. Its a bit confusing to read but it makes sense when your there. Basically there's a North and a South entrance You have to drive outside the park to get to either entrance. The North entrance has two springs and the very beginning of the tube run. From here to the very end is about 3.5 hours and your now at the South entrance
Now you don't have to go to the end. There are stops along the way but the first stop from the north entrance is about 2 hours!!
If you start tubing from the south entrance you have a choice between a half hour, one hour and a hour and a half. All tube runs end at the South entrance.
CONFUSED ? Good now just go and it won't be that bad.
One more thing if your gonna start from the north entrance tell the person at the gate so she can give you a ticket for the shuttle bus because you have to drop your people off and drive to the South entrance and leave your car there and catch the shuttle back to the north. Its really not that bad.

This ain't what I want. Take me back to the home page

This is the head springs. CRYSTAL CLEAR. The tube entrance is down a little path to the right. This spring feeds the beginning of the tube run. Oh ya there are no alligators here. ( at least that's what they tell you )

To the left of the head spring is Blue hole. Its about a half a mile walk through the woods to get to it.

This place is in the middle of the woods. It was closed when I went, maybe next time.

I did get to dive the head spring and it was worth it,  Its about 15 or 20 feet deep.

If you want to just tube from the mid-point to the end its 1.5 hours.

If you tube from the north gate its 2 hours to mid-point.

Or from the mid-point you can tube to Dampier's landing. Its only a half hour.

I know it sounds confusing just go it really easy!

You can also canoe and kayak as well. Or you can even snorkel the whole river!!
I thought this was cute! You never know what you'll pick up while your snorkling.
Now here's the part that sucks. There's no camping inside the park. But right across the street there's camping and I don't think the price is too bad . Or it you want you can camp at O'leno State park , its about 30 minutes away in High Springs.

!

One word of caution here. When someone tells me that something is "Just down the road " I'm thinking a quarter mile tops. If you get directions from someone here and they tell you its "Just down the road" you better pack a lunch and plenty to drink.

 !

So now I guess you want to know how to get there!! Good luck. My best advice is to find it on the map and when your close ask someone. I was in High Springs and it was " Just down the road ".
