Most of the campsites here are somewhat secluded.
I'm a friendly camper but I don't want my neighbors sitting in my
camp with me unless I invite them. Site 24 is our favorite. Big
and secluded! Close to the bathrooms too!! I could get a trailer
and 3 tents in there if I had to.
The Cow camp is a must see its only opened on Saturdays and
Sundays and holidays. They have a guy dressed up as a Florida
cracker (cowboy) from the 1800's. You can ask him questions about
the past but nothing about today. Don't miss it!!
They have a boat ramp and docks so if you have a boat bring it.
The Lake is MASSIVE and is connected to other lakes. Oh ya, there's
some fishing going on here.
They have a tower that looks out over the lake and its worth
checking out. And several good trails one that starts out by the
tower.
If your a camper you'll love this place.
There's a small store down the road from the park. Right past that
is a road that will take you to the Mara Lisa Restaurant (Can't
miss the sign). You can get firewood on that road as well.
This is the entrance for the cow camp and the sign
stating your goring back in time to 1876.
And when you get there you'll find a couple of
Florida "Crackers".
You can put your boat in here and
when your ready you can take it down a channel right to Lake
Kissimmee.
The tower looks out over the lake. There's
a clear view for miles
There's a little bridge and dam that
some fish from. I never had any luck from there. But it looks
cool.
Just a night time camp photo.
On the left is my girlfriend and our
camp guard dogs. On the right this is my tough Catahoula Leopard
dog!
